General information

This project aims to formulate training workshops for teachers who are part of the "Colegio Primaria Anexa Don Bosco", Masaya, Nicaragua, conducting training sessions to strengthen the techniques used by teachers of the same center, thus strengthening the teaching model that the center offers, based on the mission and vision of the center and the constructivist-humanist approach, ensuring a strengthening in the teaching system that the center offers to the student community.

Main features and goals of the crowdfunding campaign

In Nicaragua's education, teachers should be continuously monitored for the accompaniment of techniques and strategies, which will ensure the quality of the learning teaching that teachers provide in the classroom.
The present Project of Educational Strengthening lies in the improvement of the implementation of teaching techniques at the Elementary School Annex DonBosco, Masaya, which is a very important topic in the training and development of the teacher as the students of that improving the quality of education by facilitating better development and intellectual capacity.

Project Objectives Raised

  • Formulate training workshops for educational strengthening of education at the Anexa Don Bosco educational center
  • Train teachers in educational techniques for the correct use of the teaching model used by the institution
  • Develop new attitudes and creativity in teachers to improve educational quality

Why this is important

Educational strengthening is unquestionably useful to improve the fulfilment of the functions of academic staff in general, allowing for properly competent human resources to ensure internal management and quality in the provision of academics and demonstrate its professionalism in the academic field it exercises. If we say educational strengthening i.e. strengthening knowledge and solidifying it for better development that educational managers take in the exercise of their chair, for this reason this proposal is justified by mentioning the advantages of it.

  • It enables the continuous improvement of teachers in their search for optimal levels of qualification and, therefore, their permanent updating through training workshops of teaching techniques.
  • It allows teachers who have full mastery of what they teach, and who have a lot of willingness and interest, that is, who have the ability to transmit knowledge through practice.
  • It facilitates to generate a proposal for job stability, through a commitment that affects the quality and improvement of the teacher. Stability that is based on performance and skill acquisition.

There is no doubt that the teacher is important in the success of any model or educational system. It has been repeatedly said that any improvement process in the area of education, so that it actually fulfils its objective and is effective, must, finally be carried out to a minimum manifest itself in the classroom. And what happens in the classroom is directly related to what the teacher does. hence the need for training programs aimed at improving performance, under the premise that the better trained the teacher, the more efficient his educational work will be for this reason the need to implement an Educational Strengthening plan for improving the implementation of teaching techniques at the Annexed Primary College Don Bosco, Masaya is of vital importance
The Project arises while we were still students, we needed a school in which to carry out our internships of certain subjects (Organizational Psychology, Group Psychology, Psychological Orientation in the Infante, Diagnosis and Intervention Psychopedagogical and to conclude Psychosocial Projects ), as we made diagnoses and interventions in the center arose the answers to the questions that we were thinking being the main Why the educational quality in the center is Poor? At first it was unclear to us whether the problem was merely from the centre or from the pupils (as primary education only applies to 5-12 year olds), of course, 70% of these pupils come from a dysfunctional family, parents or close relatives with problems such as substance abuse, alcoholism, domestic violence etc. One day we agreed to change our focus, from students to teachers, to the preparation they have, and to experience. Being a center belonging to the Salesian community we thought that it should have a good curriculum structure in terms of the topics to be addressed, contents and so on but the result of the diagnosis was no, the center from the beginning was built and put in place so that children from low-income families could access a primary education by paying only a "symbolic" price as the authorities mention, this is $1, per month, as the money is not enough to improve all "educational" aspects they decide to become a center subsidized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Nicaragua, that is, this pays teachers for their service and the center with the monthly students covers the services basic sonly.
Of the 37 teachers who teach the different subjects (1 teacher for each degree with double shift "Matutino and Vespertino" only 1 has a pedagogical specialization with the degree of degree of degree being this only the assistant director who does not teach subjects, the rest of the teachers are empirical teachers who throughout the years obtained the "technical" degree of teaching through state media and such programs.
It is no secret in the international community and in the same country as current education in Nicaragua and in recent years has been and is poor, the current guidelines of the ministry of education towards state-owned schools is that no student will leave the year teachers are required to pass from grade to each child and young person, in the annex center Don Bosco being belonging to the Salesian community does not apply such guidelines and education is achieved better than in state centers but the lack of preparation teachers' training in the face of the specific problems of the students, the lack of professional pedagogical preparation ( Teachers receive training 1 time a month by the principal, this is the only one who attends the monthly workshops organized by the ministry education and this is responsible for transmitting the contents, addressing these and methodologies devoid of logic, she tries to transmit everything she can both teaching and experience but despite her efforts is not enough).
For this reason we decided the driving team to carry out a project that could contribute in the educational quality of both the teachers and the students of the center, we designed 16 workshops of 4 hours in which the different topics of both psychological and educational in nature.
We are currently mediating with a private university to certify participation diplomas through its Psychology department and the workshops will be taught by ablotled professionals both nationally and internationally.
