No podemos frenar la guerra de Ucrania, pero sí facilitar la búsqueda de refugio

Con una maleta llena de incertidumbre y otro tanto de valentía, de la mano de su hermana, su sobrino de 3 años y su hija de 6, Nadia huyó de la guerra de Ucrania

El 26 de febrero, dos días después de la invasión rusa, Nadia dejó todo lo que tenía para asegurar su seguridad y la de su familia: huyó de la mano de su hermana, su sobrino de 3 años y su hija de 6 años.

Tras dejar su pequeño pueblo ubicado en la zona de las montes Cárpatos, uno de los lugares más hermosos de Ucrania, según nos relata, Nadia y su familia cruzaron la frontera en un viaje que duró más de 18 horas; cualquier medio de transporte era una opción mientras les alejarse de la guerra. Iniciaron su recorrido en bus, continuaron andando y el último tramo de esta huida pudieron hacerlo en coche. Nadia describe la situación en la frontera como complicada, a su paso vio cientos y cientos de personas, lágrimas, niños y niñas asustadas ante la situación.

El desconsuelo acompaña a muchos en ese viaje, pero también la esperanza al ver la solidaridad de tantas personas que ayudan a miles de mujeres, hombres, niñas y niños ucranianos a cruzar la frontera.
La ayuda llega de muchas formas y de personas de diferentes países como Polonia, sus vecinos. Esa solidaridad se transforma en puntos de apoyo con comida, agua, y equipos médicos imprescindibles para continuar hacia un destino seguro.

Después de aquel angustioso recorrido, Nadia y su familia finalmente se encuentran en Praga donde están a salvo bajo la compañía de amigos cercanos.

En este corto pero sentido relato sobre su experiencia, Nadia extiende su gratitud a la ciudadanía española por su contribución, apoyo, humanidad y comprensión sobre lo que sucede en Ucrania, “juntos vamos a rescatar a Ucrania”.

Ahora es momento de apoyar a familias como la de Nadia que tuvieron que salir de sus hogares. No podemos frenar la guerra, pero sí podemos hacer menos difícil la situación de cientos de familias a su paso por la frontera con un plato de comida caliente, como aliento y fuerza para continuar.
