Does this story sound familiar to you? The National Front has established as the leading French party in the polls for the European elections. The Danish People's Party, the Sweden Democrats and True Finns have become the third most voted parties in their respective countries. The Freedom Party ( FPÖ ) exceeded 20 percent of the vote in the last elections held in Austria. Polls suggest that the Freedom Party and the Flemish Block ( Vlaams Belang ) are on track to regain electoral space in the Netherlands and Belgium. Golden Dawn is occuping an important political space in Greece, while the Spanish Popular Party swung to the extreme right and moves its political actions into the neighborhood of their European brothers in arms. Finally, the Italian Northern League remains as a solid electoral alternative to extreme right. Yeah... tribal solutions for universal problems! The funny thing is almost all of these formations have something in common: they are surnamed "Popular", "Democrats" or something connected to"Freedom".
Dogs are barking very seriously, though perhaps you still think that this stuff does not affect you. Yes, indeed, you are not Spaniards nor Italians, Portuguese or Greeks. So, why you should be interested in how the heavy structural cuts are destroying our societies? Why you should be interested in how those bankers and those sons of Hitler from Brussels are spreading the pain over the Mediterranean and forcing millions of people to leave their countries?
Do you remember this quote? "First they came for the Communists , and I did not speak up because I was not a Communist Then they came for the Socialists and trade unionists, and I did not speak up because I was not the one nor the other. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak up because I was not a Jew . Then they came for me, and by that time no one was left who could speak for me". So... yeah... Is there anybody willing to join us somewhere our there? The actions speak louder. And together we can.
