General information

Tupi is a free software/open source tool focused on the creation of vector animation in two dimensions (2D).

The main goal of this project is to provide an easy-to-use application for people of all ages interested in 2D animation design, using different techniques (cuts, stop motion, etc) from a friendly environment.

The final result of the works can be exported either into video files (OGV, AVI, MPEG, MOV, etc) or image arrays, depending on the user's interest.

Why this is important

Provide a free software/open source tool for the inner 2D artist we all have, from 8 years old children to adult experts. Our main goal is to introduce people into the world of the vector animation in the most simple and fun way.

Goals of the crowdfunding campaign

For this specific campaign, the project leader wants to propose to implement a specific functionality for Tupi: Pressure Support for Illustration Tools.

With this feature, the quality of the lines and the final result of the animations can be increased in a significant way, providing lines and textures much more realistic, very similar to the artwork on paper.

Team and experience

The "Tupi: 2D Magic" has completed 2 years of continuous development with 12 releases during that time. Currently, the work team is formed by one developer and a user community with members from different countries around the world.
